The record set in 2009 by Sebastian Wenta from Poland in the Heavy Stone event beat the record previously held since 1985 by Geoff Capes.

Arthur Rowe's record throw of 119ft 2in in the heavy hammer event of 1970 was at last beaten by Bruce Aitken with his throw of 119ft 4in in 2008.

In the Hill Race, remarkably the record time is still that of 16min 59sec set by F. Reeves in 1978
